Composition Analysis of Marine Biofertilizer

The quality of fertilizers used in crop production is critical to ensuring that plants receive the right amount of nutrients throughout their growth cycle. Too high or too low levels of certain nutrients can be detrimental to plant health; therefore, tracking nutrients in fertilizers is critical. Fertilizers provide key elements that increase soil water-holding capacity while increasing fertility. The macronutrients, phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium in a fertilizer determine its quality. At the same time, certain trace elements, such as magnesium, calcium, sulfur, and trace amounts of boron, copper, cobalt, iron, molybdenum, manganese, and zinc, although in small amounts, are essential for plant growth. Elemental analysis of fertilizers ensures adequate nutrient content. Composition analysis ensures that the quality and content of fertilizers meet legal standards. The fertilizers produced by CD BioSciences are mainly derived from marine organisms, such as seaweed, fish protein, marine microorganisms, seagrass, kelp, microalgae, chitin, chitosan, chitosan oligosaccharide, jellyfish, etc. CD BioSciences mainly provides marine bio-fertilizer composition analysis, but also provide customers with customized analysis of fertilizers from other sources.

Our Analytical Technologies

  • Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES)
ICP-AES is an analytical technique that can identify micronutrients in fertilizers.
  • Flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS)
FAAS can determine how much of the desired nutrient is present in the fertilizer.
  • Microwave plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (MP-AES)
MP-AES is a multi-element analysis method based on fast sequential emission.
  • Ion Chromatography
It is able to analyze a wide variety of carbohydrates and their degradation products.
  • Autoclave
The autoclave is used to analyze the lignin and structural sugars (cellulose and hemicellulose) content in red algae samples.

Sample Requirements

Composition Analysis of Marine Biofertilizer
  • CD BioSciences does not accept requests to collect samples of fertilizers, soil, etc. on business trips. Please collect the required quantity in advance (usually 200-500g) and send it to us.
  • Especially when testing the physical properties of soil (three-phase distribution, water retention, permeability, etc.), it is necessary to collect samples into cylindrical tanks (100 mL) using a soil sampler at the desired location.
  • In the inquiry form, please describe in as much detail as possible the purpose of the analysis or test and the sample.

CD BioSciences is a professional service provider for the marine biology industry. Our composition analysis services can ensure that the most suitable methods and techniques are selected for your project. We provide our customers with the most precise ingredient data and highly informed process expertise. Our team of biomass experts plays a key role in the formulation, optimization and commercial evaluation of biomass value-added processes in industry and academia. If necessary, please feel free to contact us.
